PHILIPPINE

AIRLINES

MARCH 2025

OVERVIEW

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) was founded in 1941 and has been operating for over 80 years with the same name since its founding. It is the Philippines’ largest flag carrier and in July 31, 1946, PAL became the first Asian airline to cross the Pacific Ocean. It is also the only full-service network airline and the first commercial airline in Asia flying to 32 destinations in the country and 40 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.

The purpose of this rebrand was to help improve and modernize the imagery of PAL’s original logo while staying true to their brand personality: hospitable, sincere, and adaptable. This new logo aims for the brand to shine with confidence in the sky and let travelers know, this is truly the airline they should fly with.

APPROACH

I chose the same color theme, but made adjustments to the typeface and logo mark. Their original logo already included a sun, but it was very outdated. The original sun from the flag is very symbolic, so I incorporated it into my design while also including wings to signify not just flight, but for the Philippine Eagle, the country’s national bird.
